Custom Furniture & Home décor design and manufacture

Our mission is to create tailor-made pieces for your home, office, or business that authentically reflect your individual tastes, needs, and preferences.

As we do not offer a standard range of products, we encourage you to begin your journey with a design consultation. Through detailed 3D models, we enable you to envision the final product and ensure it meets all your requirements. You play a crucial role in the design process, making decisions on elements such as timber, finish, and edge detailing.

Our ultimate goal is to deliver exquisitely crafted, functional items that bring your vision to life!

3D Modelling / Detailed drawing development

We exclusively utilize SketchUp Pro for all our customer builds. SketchUp is an excellent tool for experimentation and visualization before commencing work in the workshop.

With detailed 3D models, we enable you to explore different designs, layouts, finish options, and more, providing a comprehensive understanding before any wood is touched. The added functionality of material lists and cutting diagrams allows us to optimize material usage efficiently.

In addition to using SketchUp for our own projects, we offer it as a standalone service. If you require detailed models or fabrication drawings for your own builds, we are more than happy to assist. Feel free to reach out to us for further information.

At Käsner Custom Wood Craft, we have extensive experience repairing, restoring, and updating solid timber pieces. We're delighted to meet with you (and the patient) to discuss a suitable treatment plan.

Timber processing

Jointing / Planning / Thicknessing

We have a Jet 310 Combination Planer / Thicknesser Machine with Helical Cutterhead. Able to accommodate material up to 310mm wide and approx. 225mm thick.

Re-sawing

Resawing timber allows one to produce thinner sections or to make veneers. The two adjoining surfaces are produced from the same piece of wood, so that they have (almost) exactly the same appearance but mirrored.

We have a Laguna 18BX bandsaw which has a Resaw Capacity of approx. 400mm and a throat depth of 450mm.

Edge Shaping

We have a JET OES-80OCS Edge Sander and a Jet JBOS-5 for efficient stock removal and the shaping of curved parts.

Morticing

Need to bang out a bunch of mortices?

We have a Jet 719A professional Floor Standing Hollow Chisel Mortiser featuring a heavy-duty cast iron sliding table and powerful motor which allows one to produce up to 25mm wide mortises in a single pass.

Cross / Rip cutting

Need timber cut to size?

We have a SawStop Professional table saw with Incra Precision Fence - very accurate and repeatable cuts

Sanding

Need timber perfectly flat?

We have a Jet 22-44 Plus for sanding and calibrating wood products. Able to accommodate boards approx. 550mm wide in a single pass or 1100mm wide in two passes.

Tool Sharpening

Any edge tools and (or) knives that require sharpening? We have a Tormek T8 with accessories - razor sharp edges at your grasp.
